How to get there

By car

The Gargano is the most northern part of Apulia and can be easily reached by car. From the North, the Autostrada A14, (direction Bari), runs directly to the Motorway that connects Vieste with the national road network. From Munich or Freiburg i.B. Vieste can be reached in about 12 hours, from Zürich in about 11 hours. Directions from the exit Poggio Imperiale-Lesina to the Residence Padre Pio

Motorway to Vico del Gargano, then take the coastal road (SP52) to Peschici. From Peschici take the domestic road inland (SS89). At km 101,8 (observe the km signs) turn left and follow the sign „Residence Padre Pio“. After about 1 km you will find the Residence Padre Pio on your left hand side.

By train

The city of Foggia is easily reached by international train connections, day or night. From there, several buses a day run to Vieste. The bus journey to Vieste takes about 2 ¼ hours. If you want to get around in Vieste, we recommend you take a rental car. There are several car rentals near the train station in Foggia. Alternatively you can change trains in San Severo and take the „Trenino“ (Italy’s first electric railway opened 1931) to Peschici-Calenella. By airplane

From many European cities Bari and Pescara can be reached easily. There are cheap deals for car rentals at the airports; mostly they can be booked together with the flight. This guarantees you mobility during your vacation.
